southern MN | I realize it's your team that was declared the winner, so you need to justify the bad press.
I'm not sure a still photo helps much in this case.
There clearly was a very obvious push in the back by a Seahawk, so the paly shoulda been called dead right there, no matter who came down with the ball.
Then, the GB player craddled the ball and appeared to have sole posession of it. Then the Seahawk fella got his hands in there after the fact, and certainly in your photo he also had his hands on the ball. But - the play & the call of who had initial possession happened several frames before your photo.
There is just no way to put a good spin on this - it was a very bad series of calls that led to Seahawks winning, GB losing.
As a Minnesota fan, it is always nice to see GB lose; but poor reffing such as this leads to less value in the game. Certainly the game outcome is not legit, anyone can see that.
What bothers me more than bad real-time calls on the field, are the horrible mechanics the temp refs are doing - giving out extra time outs, placing balls on the wrong yard line, and so forth. These technical details need to be right, and are made during down time, where they have time to confer and get it right. and still they get it wrong.
The whole mess leads to frustration by players and fans. Frustration does not lead to bigger fan base....
In the end, Seahawks won the game, and everyone move forward.
But it doesn't look good, even if you are a Seahawk fan, to try to justify anything about that last play as being legit. Seahawks were given the game on multiple bad/non-calls, take it and move on, but don't try to justify it.
