Puff makes a good point, if your fields are all testing high they might have just generated a recommendation based on crop removal at what ever expected yield you gave them.Keep in mind that just because an area is high yielding or low yielding it doesn't necessarily mean that fertility levels are drastically different, sometimes soil type, topography, drainage, compaction etc will cause big yield loss/gain regardless of fertility levels. Which maps did they provide? When we soil sample with get a small book for each field, there's probably 8-10 pages with the various results ( P,K,PH, Buffer PH,Mg,etc,,, along with recommendation for each product), once we have the results with sit down with the CS and decide whether it's really economical to do a VRT spread or whether to do a blanket application of a custom blend. VRT spreading is $3-5/ac more than just a straight spread job so sometimes its cheaper to skip the VRT and just over apply in some areas with a custom blend, all depends on the individual field results.
