Subject: Help me choose a portable air compressor

Le Sueur VIA St.Thomas
So, I have some Home Depot bucks and am going to get a small air compressor. The link is to 4 that I am interested in. Take a look and tell me what you think?

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/THDProductCompare?e...

The Dewalts are 4SCFM @90, the Makita is 4.2@90 and the Rigid is 4.9@90. I'm leaning towards the cheap Dewalt ar the Makita. The cast iron is still good and so is oil lube if you don't mind changing it, correct? The cheaper Dewalt's great price/no frills approach is very good, but I'm currently giving the nod to Makita for a nice control panel, lower amp rating(less popped breakers in cold weather?) as well as the fact that I am kind of a Makita guy ;^)

Also, what's the deal between the two Dewalts? Besides the control panel on the more expensive one, the cheaper one looks to be better built, correct? Is the Rigid in the same ballpark as the other two brands? Is oilless/oilfree better or just cheaper?

good luck -jim
