Good Ol' East Texas | Thanks. Started off this spring with plenty of moisture then hot and dry and still dry. Rain has been pretty scattered lately. Those that have gotten lucky with some rain are planting and others are waiting. That field is techinically classified as grain sorghum but that area has been chopping it for silage for years. It's planted on 7.5 in spacing at rate of 20 lbs/ acre I think. Did about 18 tons/acre. 3 weeks before that looked horrible but got some rain and it grew some more. His neighbor planted the same thing and I want to say he planted at 8lbs on 7.5 in spacing and made 14 ton/acre. I want to say both were planted at the same rate but not for sure had too many numbers running through my head when were discussing it. | |
