Lapel, In | Actually grain pricesd were all over the board during the depression.Had someone who lived through it said board prices were terrible( a few cents a bushel), but when he needed to buy some corn for his hogs, he couldn't find any to buy anywhere. He finally found some in Nebraska. The catch was he had to buy a whole carload and had to pay for it and the shipping to Indiana in cash before shipment. The price ?------ $2 a bushel. Not unusual in extreme times for grain to get out of deliverable position. | |
