| I've also heard that a large percentage of farmers will spend more on one piece of equipment than they did on their homes. Since I don't do that, I think that is also a bad idea.
I remember thinking like you before I got my first computer, hey I'd lived all those years without one, so I don't need one. Now my phone does all that my desktop does, and more. I can't drag my desktop out to survey the area of a field, I can't stick my desktop in my pickup to give me turn by turn directions. Without my phone I can't access my files from home, so I'm kind of wondering why anyone would spend all that money on a desk top computer and monthly access when they can't run their companies or businesses while on the road.
It's all a matter of perspective and need. My Great Grandfather just couldn't imagine why he'd need to spend that much money for electricity, a wall mounted phone, and the opportunity to poop in the house.
