If you have anyplace with 100'+ to put a base antenna (grain leg, silo, t.v. tower.....) put up your own repeater is cost effective. I don't have $2000.00 invested my repeater. purchase new and they last. I did have to replace the antenna a couple times and they can get expensive $1000.00+ with lightning strike but still cheaper than a community repeater. did that 30 years ago and always had one "big operator" hog the freq. if you have a good radio man he can point you in the right direction. I think al our radios ar now vertex for a brand and work very well.


What will it cost you to upgrade to the narrow band frequency?
