Southern Alberta Canada | We run 50 two way radios, most are 30 plus years old and they work just fine. I expect perfect clarity within ten miles mobile to mobile, twenty miles mobile to base and we get a good signal 50 miles base to base (probably do better but one base is directional and is facing away from the other) the main base is on a hundred foot tower. We can hear mobile to mobile at 40 miles if they are working on the hills at the ranch but two way communication is quite unreliable. Service for all the radios combined doesn't cost us more than $20 a month, the oldest are Midlands, there's a bunch of Unidens and most of the newer ones are Motorola all are mounted units and run from 25 to 35 watts. | |
