Saronville NE | Agree, cows will bring a head bout the same as slaughter price. There were some dang nice fancy young black cows to calve in Feb here bring $1125 other day, thats bout where they were last year when I started buying, but Im more reluctant to buy this time thinking grass will be zero unlike last year, but if I had cornstalks open allready I would pry buy some of those good young cows for that money, put on stalks, and calve and feed em and take my chances. A $1100 cow that you could part with the cow for $850-900 later on and have a $500 calf out of, looks safer at this time, if you had to split to keep the calves, IDK. | |
