Just finished 4th crop alfalfa this week at a dairy that I help on part time. We were extremely dry until late July which helped save the later corn and boost alfalfa yields. All of the haylage and silage is piled on Asphalt with no sides and covered as soon as we are finished. I also have several pictures from a silage bunker that is being fed out of now. It has virtually no spoilage. The merger is a 35' H&S that was new this year. The hay is cut with a Pottinger 32' with tine conditioners that is new this year also.
