I wouldn't chop it for silage. Mold is what you need to careful with as far as blood thinning and silage is a prime area for mold to grow. We've baled it as dry hay and it makes pretty good feed. Just make sure it is good and dry so you don't end up with moldy bales. It tends to get quite course and not the most palatable.
