If you pinch off the blooms it will only make more blooms, seemingly every day. Commercial growers cut off all the branches to make a hedge. Trim your plant severely and then let it grow back. You can do this several times before the new leaves get too small.

That works real well too, but when the growing season is 3 months, it kind of limits the overall harvest.;)
Given a 12 month growing season, a hedge would be COOL!! Call me envious.
