what do you think they fed them for a hundred years or so. red clover timothy mix. until alfalfa became popular, the first couple years they ate lots of clover and as it died out they had timothy for them.
That's just what I was thinking. My dad and grandpa farmed with horses up until a couple of years before I was born and red cover and timothy was the hay of choice for cattle and horses alike. |
