Subject: RE: soybean seed contract

SEIA
Been growing for Pioneer for 14 years. I think your satisfaction will hinge on your relationship with your plant. I get along fine with mine. I grew for a smaller company before that and both contracts had strong and weak points. Do you plant Pioneer beans now? If you do, I wouldn't hesitate to grow seed for them. I am seriously considering dropping the seed contract because of the cost/hassle ratio is out of whack. $.50-$.75 premium is good with $5-$7 beans, not with $9-$11 beans. You'll get your final payment in August of the following year. I do like the way you sell them, by % and not bushels.
