I can't attest to good/bad or whether they are better than anything else, but our Ranger was bought in '06 based on the use and abuse similar models took in the desert in Iraq.  Combat Engineers put them to the test in a very large military installation, and my husband was impressed enough that we got one when he came home.  It's a great machine.
