+1 on making a big deal out of the "big boy bed".  If you're excited, they'll respond in kind and they'll get excited.  And a little bit later on, having the experience of being excited about a big boy bed leads directly to being excited about wearing big boy pants, too!  And that's always a plus!  :~)
