older motors may not say on name plate also they were usually built better than newer ones if its a newer motor hope its inverter duty if using a drive., changed one out the other day for the third time this month,other shift put general purpose on the last two times (480 volts)... do you have 3 phase service just wondering why the generator and could you just use a contactor?guess i should ask what voltage you are using?
