My 32' head will make the R62 power out if you're pushing it hard. So yeah, they take a lot of power. Which isn't a surprise as you're doing most of the threshing at the head...

A 1680 is pretty close to the 62 power wise I believe (or at least it should be, both have 8.3 cummins motors) so in anything under 70-80 bu wheat you'll have plenty of power. In 40 bu wheat, I can run 5, maybe 6 mph, which is about as fast as I can ride it, so that works pretty well for me.
