I like either the second auger idea as the first choice, or roof auger if space is limited for second choice. Legs are nice, but, they can also be a PIA especially in winter. One thing you never stated but is a really big concern is will there be ANY salt in the feed going through the leg? If so, don't even consider a leg as rust from just a trace of salt will cost you more grief than you know. Had it happen to a friend. You just won't know about it for a few years.
