frederick, MD | Planted mine here around the last week of june. Earliest ever. Ground was hard as a brick. Cih 1200 planter with custom frame mount coulters. Ran it through the shop to put new leading disks and coulters on. 1 inch deep was all I could get. Filled the 500 gallon fertilizer tank and hung 1000lbs of weight on each wing. Inch and a quarter deep. Let a bunch of air out of the tire, gotta get them in the ground. Got them in about 1.5 inches deep. The seed trench was pure dust. I walked out there 1 week later and they where pokin through the dust, without rain. They came up about 2 inches then sat and waitedfor about 10 more days for rain, then they took off. Look great now. About 3 feet tall.
Sprayed em with powermax in 100 degree heat. Really fried um. Turnin yellow. Got some snake oil pixe dust foliar and hit them 2 days later with that. I was very suprised, they green right back up. | |
