Sunnyside, WA
Calkins 12" spacing with 16" sweeps. I usually only run it 6" deep, but I wanted to see what the tractor and chisel plow would do since they were both new to me. It pulled HARD! I plan to only run it 4-6" deep for a first pass after corn silage with my 8420. Hoping it will pull it but have not tried yet. I can drop 2 or 4 shanks and make it a 31' which I will probably do since the wings want to run deep on the outside all the time. I think the outside one or two shanks are too far from the wheels and pull it in. It had 6 shanks off when I pulled it home and two of them look almost new. Might be the reason.

I was going to buy a newer chisel plow, but I hear so much good about the Calkins I figured it was worth a try. No welds at all on this one and I know its probably 25+ years old.
