Subject: acres battle, where will they come from

Goff Kansas
was wondering what the cotton acres will do this yr. our marketer said the south cotton boys, who planted alot of corn last yr., are switching almost 100% back to cotton. i find this a little hard to believe, but what do i know..

also was talking to a guy about 30 miles west, and he claimed that within a 5 mile radius of his house, there was at least 1000 acres coming out of CRP or pasture sod busted. i looked in our backyard, and yes we are breaking CRP and pasture up, along with the neighbors a little.. alot of little's makes a whole lot sometimes..

Finally, what about these bean acres. i know alot (not all) of the corn belt boys are liking this corn on corn, and corn still does pay better than beans. Our way, or what some call the "Fringes" of the corn belt, i think it is more beans. If not beans, the wheat to beans rotation..

Not asking for numbers for March report, but does anyone else agree with this thought and observations.
