Yes they will last a long time but it sure hurts when you have to buy up front. This is just for weed knives, can't imagine what a gear box would cost. Fortunately, I have four gearboxes from a 943 that can be used. Come on guys They are not just a piece of steel bent They are hardened steel that last a long time Quite your bitchin You bought a used head that was wore out so fix it and fix it right Go price a new one, your labour will be pretty cheap Case will work with you if you will work with them We rebuilt a 943 last year and the price of shoup could not compare to our local Ih dealer who had everything in stock for us The shipping up here was the breaker Local after market shop up here is 1500 to 2000 per row to bring to new
