High Springs, Florida | We have a lot of those 2" cased wells around here. Some caveats: 1. Well casing cannot have any holes in it, not even pin holes. Water is pumped back down between the casing and feed pipe, so integrity is needed. 2. Usually a 1.25" pipe goes down into the well, down to the jet, which has leathers on it, to seal against the casing. 3. Use only schedule 80 threaded PVC in 20' sections or galvanized iron pipe. Schedule 40 plastic WILL break if you try and pull the jet back up, after it has been in a while and the leathers, "grow" into the casing. 4. After the jet has been in for a few years, they can be very difficult to pull, due to the leathers growing into the pipe. 5. A lot of well drillers/servicers around here will not mess with a 2" well anymore.
As far as I know, nobody makes a submersible pump to fit into a 2" well casing, other than for monitoring wells. Those pumps have a finite lifespan and are very expensive.
I would pull the pump cylinder and either replace or repair it.
