Eastern NC | I am currently running a 9670STS combine and have been given what I belive is a really good offer for it as a trade in on a new machine. I will keep the specific numbers in confidence but the machine cost pencils out to be about $2.30 per acre for the amount of acres that I have harvested with it. I feel good about that number but I do not feel good when I see that the purchase price of a new S660 and head is about 100k more than my old machine was new. Will we continue to see prices go up so that I can trade the new combine for the same money five years from now. One thing is sure, the new ones will not go down in price if I wait longer. And by the way, I can't get a new 660 so it will take another 30k to move into a 670 machine. | |
