| Yeah, I kinda wish I had went, I can't beleive the timber sold for that. That is surely a mistake. I may just call the auctioneers. The CRP payments were a little over $30,000 for the three 160's. They don't have to make the payment's, the guy that bought it sold a Pepsi distributorship in St. Louis. I've dealt with him before on another farm, finally wound up renting it from another owner. As long as he can keep it in CRP, I'm sure he will. The farm has tillable potential, some terraces, etc. The problem is that the farm was kinda mined, put in CRP, then "farmed organically" for several years. The guy never used any manure, just small amounts of fish, etc. At today's fertilizer prices, it would cost another small fortune to get it back to where it would produce. | |
