w/c Illinois | I made a 3 point one-way disc by building my own frame and mounting one gang off of an old disc I bought at a sale. I can either open a ditch or fill in a rut. Shortening the top link on the tractor makes the front of the gang dig to fill a washout. Lengthen the top link, and the back of the gang will make a ditch. I found that the gang had to be mounted to the frame at a more aggressive angle than it was on the factory disc. If you can drive fast, it will really throw the dirt and feather it away from the ditch. It will also turn my light 4020 in a circle if I run it too deep in hard dirt. I didn't have have quite enough travel on my top link to get the needed change in the pitch from front to back, so I made two different mounting holes for the top link ball. One is for ditching and the other is for filling, and I fine-tune it with the top link. No-till corn stalks sometimes give it trouble, but over-all, I'm pleased with it. | |
