Where Lewis and Clark finished the rum | Here's an update - THANKS to all who helped! Using info rec'd here and http://www.thecombineforum.com/forums/4-john-deere/36628-jd-9600-wo... , we ascertained that we had a bad ECU. Local dealer ordered one and tried to program it at dealership...spent a day and a half doing that and on tech support to JD. Finally decided to bring it out, place it on our machine and do the programming. That worked, and the machine finally made it to the field yesterday! Woohoo!!
Until now I hadn't thought of our machines as "old", but dealer and JD had trouble finding someone old enough to work on our machine...the senior tech who came out yesterday had a junior tech with him who was just out of diapers when this combine was new...hmmm. We pride ourselves in being able to fix virtually all that we run...but this was a major frustration and needed JD "special sauce" -
