I wonder how much interest in planting beets there will be next year when corn and beans and wheat pencil out better.
I heard in southern MN the beet stock owners were paying growers to grow their beets.
High priced fuel, Labor, and machinery costs with the same $40 a ton or less are making other crops look more profitable than beets without the headache of beet harvest.
