Lil' Hoss... suggested unhooking and rehooking - did so, thanks. - see below... AND the sister ECU works, so it sure looks like ECU.
This AM we put old ECU back in and it immediately came up 71E. Tried to clear codes and briefly got "00", but then reverted to 71E. So looks like $1700 ECU and $600 new wire harness to go with it:o)) Sure hope that cures it
