Subject: Chopping corn silage...

N/E Iowa
I have never had to chop corn before, i have enough pasture and hay to get me through the winter.....BUT, I have roughly 40 acres that didnt even hardly set an ear do to the heat and lack of moisture. I had some chopped up and sent to have it checked for nitrate levels, it came back around 1,100, and the moisture was 71%. I plan on chopping next monday, and putting this in a 200 ft bag for atleast 60 days before feeding.

Can you guys that chop tell me what nitrate levels are safe to feed stock cows at.... And will i be safe to chop next monday if the corn is 71% now? (It's burning up fast):(
