Subject: Re: Drought into the fall = HOW MUCH FALL NH3?

McLeod County, MN
It was dry by me last fall and some guys put it on. Has to be one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. I can drive around and pick those fields out with ease. If I were you I would be my own pull-type spreader, especially if you have autosteer and just use urea for everything. Otherwise put ESN down this fall. Going to be more expensive, but putting NH3 into dry dirt isnt worth it. There will be reprecussions to your bottom line and the environment. I personally will never put N on in the fall ever again. Have seen WAY too much N leach out on fall applied. I did NH3 this spring and wish I would have put N-serve with it.
