PE, I agree. I have some beans in the gravel spots. Surprisingly, they aren't dead. Light green? Yes. Short? Yes. Dead? No. They went 28 days without moisture. None. They were flipping by 11 most days. Just a sick sight. We have .8" on them so far this week so they look much better. Tough little buggers. They were hailed darn near flat at 2nd trifoliate. Beans in the heavy ground are waist high (no, I am not a midget). No pods. But definitely "healthy looking" plant. They got a shot of Harmony and it flashed them too around V3. Thought that would slow 'em down. So much for trying to keep them short"er".

So, if they aren't brown, don't count them out yet. FWIW, I hate growing beans. This is one year I may feel differently about them after watching the corn fire like it has.
