Northeast Indiana (Auburn)
I have got about 1.5" in the last week. It will help the soybeans a lot but will need another 3 to 4 inches of rain to make a 30 bu crop. I checked some corn last night. About 2/3rds of the 4' tall stalks are trying to shoot some ears. The shorter stalks will not have anything. I found some stalks that are about 8" tall, they must have just come up. The ears on the rest are about 16X20 kernal wise and about 1 1/2" around. If it keeps raining I might get the 50bpa I need to fill my contract. The heavy rains went south of Fort Wayne or north near the IN/MI line. We are still about 9" below average rainfall since April 1st. at Fort Wayne and they have got at least 2" more rain than the area north of them.
