Subject: Calculating corn yields

SW Manitoba.
I have saved e formulas that other posters have given. My question is, when you are counting the kernels long, how close to the end of the cob do you count. These kernels are sometimes not as big or may not develop the same as the main part of the cob. I don't want to fool my self into thinking I got more yield than I actually do. Do I count right to the end of the tip? Any other tricks to using the formula and counting to make it more legitimate? Thanks
