If you have hay now and will have cornstalks later, process them through the cows and turn into milk for as long as possible. Calves aren't going to do much with that kind of rough feed, but cows will and a little supplement will go a long way toward balancing their diet where it would be most of a calf's diet. If you can't keep up with the cows' needs, then look at weaning the calves off them. | |
