Need to keep in mind there will be shrink in the field drying also. 100 bushels harvested @ 20 % moisture over the scales or a couple of weeks? later, that same plot of land would not yield 100 bushels @ 15%. The shrink factor at the elevator is most likely higher than natural drying, but it is harvested and can be cash in the bank, or left to dry in the field and on the ground, no value. Personally I don't want corn in the field to get down to 20%, too much loss. But I dry and store my own.
