Generally in KY 15 inch rows with a planter are as good as anything, also less seed needed, 150-170000 seeds, if using 7.5 inch rows it requires more seed & a greater down pressure & weight to get a good stand! Residue distribution behind the combine plays an important role in getting a satisfactory stand too!
