has Kirk found that rolled rye has helped suppress late emerging and/or herbicide tolerant weeds?

our no-till beans are hanging on but have grown very little in the last month.
the stand is good and there are almost no weeds but the cereal rye clearly used up some of the sub-soil moisture that the later planted beans are now accessing as they continue to grow.
I think the no-till beans still have the potential to yield well if we could just catch a good rain.
