The tramline are the way to go for sure. Congrats on that. With a 10 inch row a good driver can do pretty well on 30's. Without guidance you can hang a chain or know where the 10 inch drill row is off a center front tire rib and do pretty well.

The drill job all depends on your soil, stalks and root balls. Droughty stalks ought to tear apart and green ones can be a problem.
