To anyone who might be interested in doing this fix, do not worry about balance as long as you weld it the same way all around. I have never had an issue with balance on any auger by welding a wear rod on the screw yet and I have done a lot of them. I usually run my 27' truck auger 700 rpm which is way faster than the fountain auger on this combine and it runs very smooth. I put the rod on all 27' of it. | |
