I don't know the diameter but I really doubt that is your problem, I would think an auger that wore out would cause problems with the clean grain elevator chain and slipping the clutch. If you think it is causing the problem A&I sells them for about half the cost of new deere and you could weld rod around the outside flighting like daveswia has posted about several times on here.
