Thumb of Michigan | I've flown radish @ 15# and 20# per acre twice over the years. Failure both times. Not because of one thing necessarily, but a combination. Seed hit the ground, got moisture, even had some sprouting. They just weren't real vigorous and never achieved anything that I'd call a good stand. One year, had a tremendous flush in the spring following a late summer aerial seeding. At that point, I had a weed vs a cover crop. I kind of eliminated herbicide as an issue, feel some of the problems is that radish doesn't like competition for sunlight. The same day I aerially seeded into corn, we also seeded some 30" soys- that had some herbicides applied earlier in the season that I know from past experiance are tough on radish. Soys started yellowing a couple weeks after flying seed on, and ended up with a pretty nice stand of radish by the end of September. Herbicide didn't seem to affect them in that case like I was worried about.
