Biggest problem with helicopter is limited payload. I have had a helicopter do some 2,4-D on small grain fields before. Worked great, but they had to stop and fill once even on a small field, @ >5 gpa. A lot of the fungicide applications here are done with the plane @ 10 gpa, would take a long time to cover a 130 acre circle with a helicopter.
