michigan | i agree mennoboy in the past if we had spent more money on irrigation instead of a new combine or replacing tractors that could have lasted a few more years in a drought year like this the irrigation would have paid for the new tractors and combine. we seem to take mother nature for granted and now look where we are this year. dont get me wrong tile is a very good investment also but irrigation if a guy has a good water supply can be just as important as anything we have seen for years where in our dry corners where the pivot misses there can be a hundred bushel difference in corn on good ground irrigated can run 220 to 250 bushel and the non irrigated be 100 bushel less this year it is going to be alot less . | |
