Winterset, Iowa | 62-09 is new for this year even though it was in plots last year. We will learn a lot about the new numbers this year and some of the old ones too because we're having a season we haven't seen the likes of for a while. For stevo1440 to say he'll never plant Dekalb again because of 62-09 is a little rediculous. Every seed company will probablly have a hybrid or two that will not perform this year but that doesn't mean all of their hybrids are bad. That is exactly why you should plant more than one number. 62-09 did very well last year so there was really no reason to think it wouldn't do well this year. If it has major issues in a wide area then I'm sure the company will re--evaluate. It wouldn't be the first time a hybrid didn't live up to expectations. | |
