SW Wisconsin
Yes he is referring to 62-09, also have 57-50 and 52-04 planted all in the same field. The 57-50 and 52-04 are still hanging in there much better than 62-09. 62-09 is the sickest looking corn around by far. I know of one field that has 62-09 and 62-97 planted 24 rows side by side across the entire field and the 97 looks just fine and should make something somewhat decent (100-125) given the conditions we have had while the 09 at this point would be lucky to make 50 bu per acre. We also have a test plot with pioneer, dekalb, agrigold, and trelay all in the plot. Total of 16 different hybrids....all on bean ground. AGR 6533 looks the best IMO and DKC 62-09 looks by far without a doubt the worst. I've scouted three or four other plots in our area with 62-09 in it and its looked the worst in every plot i have seen. If i had to guess I'd say right now 30-50 bu. behind the rest. Time will tell and we will know for sure when the combine rolls (if it does at all)...but at this stage in the game it doesnt look good for 62-09 in our area.
