Subject: Re: question on tile in drought

New London, Wisconsin
Tree roots that are allowed to continue to grow into tile is a very bad thing but for an annual crop I wouldn't worry about at all. My usable soil profile is now much deeper since tilling in 1983 making much better crops wet or dry, or both in the same year.. It turned this place from a wet hole into a pretty nice farm. Now of course I want a linear pivot to go over the top of it. Maybe this dry heat is affecting my thinking ;-)
