Subject: Help for dry conditions - Detasseling the corn plant?

central - east central Minnesota -

Would it help or how much would it help, after pollenation, to detassel corn plant, in this dry time ?
Would the plant require less moisture, with less plant to support?
Would detasseling allow more sun into the row, caseing more baking of the soil or moisture loss ?
Just wondering . . ..
Our corn is still hanging in there, but the clay hill sides are starting to show some stress this evening . . . ..
Maybe just hoeing out / thinning the stand would be better?
