Salesman at JD dealer wanted me to come look at a low, low time, clean as a whistle 8000 after I called him on an older IH tractor they advertised, that was already gone (darn)... Told him the 8000 was not in my budget... He said well come drive it around the yard anyway, maybe you'll fall in love with it... After some chit chat we agreed I would get there at 7AM and he would be there... I went- I drove a 50 mile round trip... I looked... It still was out of my budget... I thanked him for letting me drive it around and he thanked me for taking a look...
But, he knows my name... He returns my calls... I have a good opinion of him, we have a working relationship, and he will sell me something down the road... Win-Win...
I suspect he is doing better than the average salesman... |
